I wear glasses and I was wondering how the facerig software would work with them. Would they hinder the facial recognition?

Holotech (FaceRig Employees) have stated this, and stated that glasses should not be a problem with the program. As to the extent of it, I'm unsure, but I can go ahead and contact them if you'd so chose too :)

Thanks for the quick reply, Xyphien. I think that pretty much answers my question.

@R0dium If you want to see if it works for you, try the online demo here: http://www.visagetechnologies.com/HTML5/Samples/FaceTracker/sampleTracker.html
That is the software in an older version in its most basic form, so before Holotech / Facerig got their hands on it, so if it works there, it should work in FaceRig too.

Note for if you don't know that: Visage Technologies is the "core" of FaceRig, that is what they used to get started and they built on, and that is also the reason they can't distribute an Alpha yet, since they first need a distribution contract with them.

What it does is take the black of your pupil to track eyes, so unless you are wearing sunglasses you should be fine (the software just sees your glasses as an extension of your face). Thats how most face tracking software works actually.

Have glasses. They kind of bug out the eye tracking, sometimes the avatars eyes are closed when my eyes are open, sometimes the eyes are cross eyed. But for the most part its fine to use the software with glasses.

I don't wear glasses and that happens to me all the time. idk if I'm squinty-faced or if the sensitivity is too high but I just hit the "look at camera button"

With or without glasses the facetracking only works for like 30 seconds then stops working until I relaunch the program in steam. It doesn't work. The slightest movement makes the facetracking cut out. To use the program you probably need a $1000 webcam, perfect features, clean shaven face and no glasses and perfect lighting in your room with no glare. I have the program and so do many of my friends, we all have the same complaint. Doesn't work. Money wasted
